OSBORN, Mo. – Friday, September 18, marks the penultimate points race at US 36 Raceway for the 2020 championship season.

Along with the continued points battles, the IMCA Sprint Cars are racing for $1,200 to win and $250 to start in a draw and redraw show. The IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Stock Cars, IMCA Sport Mods, E-Modifieds and Pure Stocks are also racing.

In the IMCA Modifieds, Chad Andersen holds a 14-point lead over Steven Bowers Jr. Josh Munsen (-48), Chad Clancy (-60) and Tony Layne (-71) remain mathematically eligible to win the track title.

The IMCA Sprint Cars see Tyler Drueke with a small 4-point gap on Kenny Potter, with Jay Russell in third 39 points back.

JJ Baumli leads Randy Smith Jr. by 51 markers in the IMCA Stock Cars. If Baumli can finish 11th or better this Friday, he will clinch the 2020 title this week.

The closest points battle fight in the IMCA classes belongs to the IMCA Sport Mods. Steven Clancy holds a 4-point advantage over Chris Wright and a 12-point advantage over Tim Eaton with two races remaining. This is the class to watch over the final two races.

In the E-Modifieds, Justin Asher has earned a 39 point lead on James Burns. If Asher wins Friday, and Burns finishes 3rd or worse, Asher will clinch the 2020 E-Modified championship.

The Pure Stocks still have three drivers fighting for the championship, with only one marker separating points leader Nate Barnes and Tyler Starmer. Brandon Hoover remains in contention for the title, sitting 26 points behind.

The pits open at 4 p.m. The grandstands open at 6 p.m., with hot laps at 7:30 p.m. and racing at 8 p.m. Tickets for the event are $20 for general admission, $18 for senior and military and children 12 and younger are free. Pit passes are $35.

The final two events at US 36 Raceway are Championship Night on Friday, September 25 and the 2nd Annual Missouri IMCA Nationals on October 8-10. More information on the Missouri IMCA Nationals will be released later this week.
