OSBORN, Mo. – A full pit area checked in for the first ever Missouri IMCA Nationals at US 36 Raceway.

The IMCA Modified Main Event saw Jesse Dennis and Kyle Olberding battle for the lead early. Quickly though, Steven Bowers Jr. and Chad Clancy moved by and would start battling for the lead. For the first half of the race, the two searched the track for a line and while doing so, they swapped the lead several times. After halfway, Bowers found the right line and dominated the rest of the way, picking up the first ever Missouri IMCA Nationals Modified win and the big trophy in Westfall GMC Victory Lane. Clancy finished second. Shayne Bailey started in the 16th position and drove through the field for a third-place finish. Both Adam Kates and Jaylen Wettengel also charged from 12th and 15th to round out the top five.

In the IMCA Sprint Car Main Event, Toby Chapman paced the field early, before the fastest car in the race, Jason Martin found his way around. Once out front, Martin showed he was the class of the field and picked up the win. Stu Snyder patiently worked his way to finish second after starting seventh. Chapman finished third, with Nathan Weiler fourth and pole-sitter Kenny Potter fifth.

The IMCA Stock Cars put on the best battle of the night in their Main Event as JJ Baumli and Chad Clancy went back and forth all race long. Either driver could only lead a few laps before the other would storm back by. With Clancy out front a caution flew on the final lap and set up a green white checkered finish. Clancy got a good restart and crossed the line first. Although, Clancy was disqualified in technical inspection for a rev limiter chip infraction and JJ Baumli would earn the win. Mich Ross finished second, with Bryan Rigsby third after starting 13th. Brian Labonte and CJ Turner finished out the top five.

It took several attempts to get the IMCA Sport Mod Main Event under way, but once it got going Chad Shaw paced the first half of the race. Matt Andrews worked his way to the back bumper of Shaw, but both were running the same line and Andrews couldn’t move by. Although, Shaw slipped up off turn two and Andrews took control of the race and drove away. Shaw regrouped and tracked Andrews back down but ran out of laps and Andrews earned the Sport Mod win. Shaw finished second with Chris Wright third. Coleman Browning and Jeremy Pittsenbarger made up the final spots in the top five.

The E-Mods and Pure Stocks also ran their national event, as it was postponed from an earlier date, and added to the Missouri IMCA Nationals.

DJ Barnes put in the most impressive drive of the night in the Pure Stocks Main Event as the young driver ran the most consistent race of the night. Never moving off his line, Barnes dominated all 15 laps and earned the Pure Stock Nationals Main Event win. Several drivers tried to challenge Barnes, but no other driver could find enough speed to catch him. Wayne Brooke gave Barnes the toughest challenge and finished second. Connor Masoner, Brad Smith and Kyle Rowland made up the rest of the top five.

The E-Modifieds saw another dominating performance from Justin Asher as he led all 15 laps to earn the E-Mod Nationals trophy. The battles for second on back though went on for the entirety of the race. Shawn Burns and Casey Burnett went back and forth all race long with Burns claiming second and Burnett third. Kit Bailey finished fourth with Chet Yates fifth.

This event concluded the 2019 season at US 36 Raceway and teams can now look to the 2020 racing season.
