Griggs, Dorssom and Masoner winners at U.S. 36 Raceway

Kicking off the racing action was a loaded field of competitors in an action filled dash to the checkers. Dakota Brisbin #42 from Richmond, MO would take the early lead and set a blistering pace for the others to follow holding off all contenders. As the race progressed St Joseph, Mo driver Conner Masoner #47X would challenge and make the move for the front bringing a fast Jamesport, MO driver CJ Turner #91 with him. Masoner and Turner would go at it for the lead with Masoner picking up the win and Missouri National Champion Title. Turner would have to settle for second on this night with a very fast Mich Ross #20x from Maysville, MO flying into third. Heat race winner Darrin Christy #3B from Kansas City, KS would impress with a solid fourth place showing with one-time leader Brisbin fading slightly finishing fifth on the feature. Other heat winners were Jason Ryun #27 from Kansas City, MO and Jack Turner #19 who hails from Jamesport, MO.

Not to be outdone, E-Modified would also see a spectacular race with a familiar face back in action. As the green flag flew Hamilton, MO driver and heat race winner Randy Smith Jr #3 would waste little time jumping out front and pacing the field for all others to follow. Caleb Pugh #8s from Cameron, MO would challenge Smith early but fade as the race progressed allowing Lancaster, KS native Matt Dorssom #CB3 slip by and set his sights on the leader. Dorssom would not take many laps to find the line passing Smith for the lead and make his coming out of retirement party a good one as he would race to the checkers claiming the National E-Mod Title. As Dorssom celebrated the win, Smith would take second with Justin Asher #74 from Faucett, MO making the big move of the race coming from 12th starting position to place third. Always fast and competitive Steve Makar #4M from Basehor, KS would end the night with a solid fourth as Pugh would post a 5thplace finish. Other heat race winner was Justin Bell #32 from Edwardsville, KS.

Fast, Furious and Fun is the words to describe the 28 Mod Lite entries on their first visit to the High Banks of US 36 Raceway. Brian Ziegler #65z from Bates City, MO would take the lead and set the pace leading the first few circuits on the feature. It would not take heat race winner Ed Griggs #47 from Pleasant Hill, Mo long to get to the front and capture the lead from Ziegler and never look back on his way to claiming the win and Title of Missouri National Mod Lite Champion. Kansas City, Mo driver Cody Miller #7M would be very fast and consistent challenging for the top racing his way to second with another heat race winner Dillion Raffurty #46 from Independence, Mo flying through the pack placing third. Ziegler would place a solid fourth with big mover and shaker of the feature and other heat race winner RJ Gonzales #39G from East Moline, IL rounding out the night’s top five.
