Clancy doubles up at U.S. 36 Raceway

By Rick Staley (Winston, MO) -- What a great way to start Kid’s Night at US 36 Raceway giving away loaded backpacks, Dash for Cash for the kids and all the drivers wishing Caleb Hammond a Happy Birthday through live video. We would collect stickers for this young man fighting Leukemia and we would have an auction during Intermission raising over $1000 to help the family. Thank you so much as again the fans of US 36 Raceway go above and beyond helping a great cause.

E-Modified would charge to the track and go green to checkers never seeing the yellow flag putting on a great show for the fans. Heat race winner Justin Asher #74 would get to the front early and never look back picking up his second feature win in a row parking in Lake Road Warehouse Victory Lane. Asher would be challenged late by second place finisher and other heat race winner Jason Nelson 12GA who came charging from deep in the pack. Third place would see early leader Brandon Beam #67 battle wheel to wheel with fourth place finisher Caleb Pugh #8s as they would race to the line side by side. Firth place would belong to the always fast and front running Leroy Morrison #50 as he would also come from deep in the pack.

Pure Stock would be high in number and quality on this night of racing action as a familiar face would be victorious. Justin Adkins #15 would jump to the early lead and appear to be the car to beat until late in the race as Mich Ross #20X would start his march to the front. Ross would take the lead from Adkins and never relinquish picking up the win. Adkins would not go away and ended the feature second with CJ Turner #91 placing third coming from back to front. Current point leader Conner Masoner #47X would place fourth with a fast Chester Kaufman #94C rounding out the night’s top five. Heat race winners were Anthony Persell #87 and Tyler Starmer #11s who would develop mechanical issues early in the race.

IMCA RaceSaver Wing Sprint Cars would see a new winner lead every lap on his way to his first win on the high banks of US 36 Raceway this 2018 racing season. Jack Potter #55 would not hesitate to get out front and never look back picking up the feature win holding off the hard charge of second place finisher and current point leader Matt Richards. Richards would try both high and low but was not able to pass the speedy Potter. Third place would see last race winner Mike Houseman Jr #4L with Heat winner CJ Houseman #80X fourth. Chad Jarrett #292 would recover from a mechanical problem in the heat race to place a solid fifth place.

IMCA Sport Mods were next to try and tame the fast 3/8th mile high banks as Matt Lent would take the early lead over heat winner Steve Starmer #11s. Lent #22L would run a near perfect race and claim his first ever feature win and celebrate in Lake Road Warehouse Winners Circle with a smile that may never go away. Starmer would come home in the second position with Josh Munsen #19X mounting a late race charge placing third. Fourth place would see the always fast and consistent JJ Baumli #46X with Chris Wright rounding out the night’s top five in his #66X. Other heat race winner was Coleman Browning #83.

IMCA Stock Car would see Chad Clancy #21Xwin both heat race and feature on his way to winning two features on the night. Other heat winner Jason Estes #55T would take the early lead and have contact with the front straight wall causing him to exit the speedway and from win contention. Mich Ross #34X and Clancy would battle for the top spot with Clancy winning and Ross forced to settle for second with the ever present #X9 of Brad Whitney placing a solid third on the night. Fourth would witness Billie Hoover #47X come to the front placing fourth with Rookie of the Year Contender Carson Masoner #20X fifth.

IMCA Modified would see a great race for the win by Chad Clancy and heat race winner Richard Spriggs as the two would go side by side and wheel to wheel for the front. Spriggs #81 would lead early as Clancy #21C would work through traffic and race Spriggs so close a piece of paper would not fit between the two with Clancy gaining the advantage. Clancy would not look back and claim his second feature win of the night. Spriggs would place a solid second with Shayne Bailey #56 recovering from an early race mishap to place third. Other heat race winner Tyler Hibner #89 would end the night fourth with Brandon Williams #67X impressing with a fifth place showing.
